Yum.
I spent the past weekend in Berlin, being embarrassed at my incompetence in German, spending time with Liebling’s fam and friends, eating very tasty food, and cursing the cold weather.

It was a quick trip with us landing in Berlin at 10:30pm on Friday and back on the plane by 2:30pm on Sunday. Liebling had to go home to deal with some administrative stuff and I decided to tag along, hence the quick trip. I’ve been to Berlin a number of times already, so didn’t do any sightseeing. I DID however, attend a Bavarian-themed party that was thrown by one of Liebling’s besties.
There was tasty fatty German food.
There were people in lederhosen and dirndls.
There were people in lederhosen and dirndls playing instruments reminiscent of a Ricola commercial.
And of course, people in lederhosen and dirndls participating in a tree-sawing competition.
Because that’s just how these crazy Germans get down.
So I ate, praticed my German, and clapped my hands in glee at the entertainment.
And Liebling and his friends had a great time messing up my pictures.
All in all it was a great weekend. How was yours?

I agree, you look really good in the knit dress, slender enough to wear booties with tights! That is a trend I wish I could try but sadly too big to get away with it:(

The Germans sure know how to make a party fun.
Oneika, I'm learning German now too. The language is completely insane. There are these long words that are just strung together, making our compound words like cupcake look like a joke. Also, I'm learning all the verb forms of a single word like geben, gibt, gab and gegeben. After I learned the present tense, I nearly fell out of my chair realizing that I wasn't even close to getting this language.
You are too cute. Oh, you make me miss my beloved Germany. Can't wait to go back next year but alas, I won't be going to Berlin (not that I will miss it). Your weekend looked really fun with all the funny German antics. Good times.

How funny! I just blogged about meeting my German cousin-in-law who lives in Berlin. Looks like an awesome party! I love quirky events like that. Berlin isn't in Bavaria, right? I think that's what my cousin told me, but I'm not 100% sure.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
