December 25th has come and gone but London’s Christmas spirit lives on in my photos.
I love London‘s centre: Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Oxford Street, Soho, Shaftesbury Ave, and Regent Street count among my fave spots in the city. I walk through these areas on a near daily basis since I work right up the street. I love the shopping, the crowds, and the pumping restaurants and bars. As a visitor you can find cheap hotels in London on Expedia, which is an easy way to locate hotels that are in the center of the main attractions in London.
The Christmas season saw a lot of my beloved streets aglow with intricate lighting displays. Near the end of November London‘s busiest neighbourhoods were befitted with a myriad of Christmassy decor.
Sometime I worry that all this lighting is wasteful. But it’s so pretty! I’m sure that it’s all gone by now (I’ve been in Canada and the U.S. for the last three weeks visiting family and friends) but at the very least I have these photos as a memory.

Nope it’s still there! Or at least it was as of 2 days ago. I’m hoping to get some pictures tomorrow night when I’m in the city. It was beautiful for sure!

I love Christmas decorations and it looks like London went all out – especially the huge Christmas tree ornaments! I love it. I was in Virginia Beach for Christmas and they have a drive-through, light show on the beach. It was really pretty, although the wait to get in took forever!!
So pretty! I live in Barcelona, and they celebrate Christmas until the 6th of January (Twelfth Night). I wonder if London does the same.
Pretty photos! I love how Europe goes above and beyond for the holidays… the lights do add a touch of magic and whimsy to everyday living… so, I’m with you, it’s not a waste… especially if it gives people a happy boost! 🙂

I spent Christmas and new years in London and absolutely LOVED it! My first time over the pond. I loved exploring the city seeing all the holiday lights. I LOVED the Bristish Musuem too. I stayed at the Washington Mayfair and it was a quaint little hotel; centrally located so I could hop on and off the tube at my leisure. Okay, YES, it rained everyday but isn’t that LONDON! Now onto Paris and your hotel recommendation: Hotel Ares Eiffel
