Just booked my ticket!!! Going to Taiwan for a couple of days at the end of January. Now, just where the heck is Taiwan and just what is there to see there? Believe me, I don’t really know either, but I figured that the best way to learn about the place is to go there and see it with my own eyes!
Taiwan is just a short 1.5 hour plane ride from Hong Kong, which makes it very appealing for a weekend trip, and it is relatively inexpensive as well. Other than good night markets loaded with tons of interesting brick-a-brack, I don’t know what else there is. Has anyone ever been? Recommendations?

I'm a certified teacher so I work in an international school. I teach French currently, but before I got certified I taught ESL in France. To get this particular job in Hong Kong, I went to a recruiting fair for certified teachers… However, if you are looking for an ESL job, I know that there are tons of companies in South Korea that are recruiting! I would recommend checking out "Dave's ESL Cafe" website for job postings and advice!
Hey Neika….I totally suggest you check out Taroko Gorge!! We didn't get a chance to go, but we hear it's beautiful….awesome for a day trip or an overnight!!
