.. I should probably backtrack a little more and tell you about my friend’s visit. My friend J, a flight attendant from Canada, had a few days off from work and flew all the way out to Hong Kong to see me (though, at the cost of $35 Canadian for his ROUND-TRIP ticket for a long-haul flight like Toronto-Hong Kong, can you blame him?!?). Like a good host, I tried to take him around a bit and show him all the things that a cosmopolitan city like Hong Kong has to offer. I took him to Causeway and Times Square, over to Kowloon, on the ferry to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha, out in the partying haven known as Lan Kwai Fong, out to dinner and a club with friends celebrating a birthday and an engagement, out for a foot massage (hee hee!), and to all kinds of other places. The five days he was here were jam packed! Here are some pics:
