-Liebling’s visit ended and he headed back to the UK on Sunday. 🙁
-Weather has gotten cold and miserable again. When the heck will spring get here?
-I had a big greasy bucket of fries and onion rings on Saturday. Bad idea. It is Tuesday and I still feel queasy.
-Just went out to dinner and had greasy Vietnamese food. Feeling sick. Do you see a pattern here?
-I have a zillion and one things to do at work (tons of marking and report cards due next week)… sigh.
-Liebling and I went on a mini-road trip to China two weekends ago. Blog post on that is coming shortly.
-I am dying to go away somewhere far away… But alas, the next holiday break we have is Easter break- 37 days from now. The good news is that Liebling is flying out here again and we will spend 10 days in Bali. Woohoo!
-I’m thinking of signing up for swimming lessons again. It has been nearly a year since I have stepped foot in a pool, and I’m pretty sure that I have forgotten everything I learned in the Adult Beginner swimming last that I took in Hong Kong last year. Gulp.
-The weight I lost from being sick all December and January has slowly and stealthily crept back on so that I am back at my pre-hospital weight. Womp womp.
-In an effort to get back into shape, I have dusted off the cobwebs from my running shoes and gym pass. I’m hoping to get lean and mean before my trip to Bali in 6 weeks. I went for an 8k run yesterday and went to a kickboxing class today at the gym. So far so good.
-I have been biting my nails like crazy lately. What the heck could I be nervous about?
-I am addicted to foot massages again. I went three times last week. My wallet is not happy.
-I am bored/frustrated with my hair and clothes. My hair is still in that ugly in-between stage. I wish it would just hurry up and grow! As for my wardrobe, I love fashion but I’ve lately been tired of all my existing outfits. I realize that I wear far too much black to work and have been making a concerted effort to add more colour. I also realize that I usually do my hair the same and wear the same colour of lipstick. I purchased a few new pieces and have been trying to do my hair and makeup at bit differently, which have resulted in the following looks over the past few weeks. Call it hair/outfit schizophrenia.

Told ya I was trying to wear brighter colours at work! I got this sweater dress at H&M in France on sale two summers ago. It was 5 euros!

Attempting to be “pretty in pink”. I haven’t worn this lipstick in over a year!

@Crystal: Good weather is so important! Even when it isn't cold it's still grey in Hong Kong. This is definitely not the Asia I had envisioned before I got here- you gotta go further to Thailand or Malaysia (or Bali, lol) to get those blue skies and piercing sun…
@Mamacita: Thanks! I love that colour green. I feel like bright green is an underrated colour that people don't wear on a regular basis. I can't imagine why!! As for Bali, I'm looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about!

I know all about that sickness weight loss…just today my mom remarked on how I was a "skinny mini" when I came home from Brazil where I had been really ill. And now…tsk tsk…if only I didn't have to feel like death warmed over to lose weight!

Sorry to hear that you were sick in Brazil (I always seem to get sick while travelling, too!) but at least there was some sort of benefit… 🙂 Being toned and slim was great but I felt absolutely terrible… Wouldn't it be nice to have the best of both worlds?!? LOL Thanks for the compliment on the hair, I'm getting so tired of it but trying to be patient. I am in love with yours, actually! Makes me tempted to have loose hair again 😉

I understand the hair in between stage, my hair is totally against me right now and the Phoenix weather isn't helping…it's so dry. I'm also starting up the workout routine, a lot of people I know have been doing P90x, I would love to do it but I need to build up to it.

Love your style and I agree with everyone, green on you looks awesome. I'm in the stage of not knowing what to do with my hair – it's very thick and wavy/curly and I'm debating growing it or getting it cut off very short. I can't wait to start working and then I can dress up more and wear lipstick.. it's not the thing to do in my French science lab.
I went to Bali 15 years ago. I don't remember too much but I think it was great!! We stayed in Sanur, away from the touristy centre of Kuta. The trip up to the volcano is awesome and I loved the temples and of course the markets. The trip to the see the monkeys was cool but hold onto your belongings, they are sneaky monkeys!! And the street vendors just don't leave you alone! My brother goes to Bali frequently and loves it 🙂

@Deirdre: Thanks! But how I wish I had a comfy pair of jammies to slip into! They are ridiculously hard to find in Hong Kong and I'm not too sure why. I bought a cheap pair in the market last year and they are holey and disgusting already!
@Kourt: Your hair is natural, right? I've been told that putting glycerin or castor oil while wet/moist is a great way to keep your hair from drying out!

I've heard that Kuta is absolutely ridiculous and kind of like the Indonesian version of Daytona Spring Break… Did you rent a car or hire a driver to go see the volcano?
As for your hair, thick and curly sounds so lovely! My hair, even though it's dreadlocked, is super fine. I wish I had more volume. How manageable is your hair when long? My thick curly-haired friends say it's a real pain.

I'm not sure I'd like to drive in Bali, seems pretty crazy… although I was young and didn't drive yet so I'm not sure I can make that judgement call. We must've hired a driver. I remember being the only family in a minivan. But it's a quite popular site to visit so no doubt you'll find tours there. Enjoy!

Bali- fabulous!!! It's such a dreamy, ritzy, paradise-like place….what a good way to relax for Easter. I can't wait to hear about your adventures and what the island is like during Easter. I've always wanted to go there to see what all the buzz is about (Bali and Seychelles for that matter). I hope you spoil youself on this one, forget about the budget, the money is well worth it from what I hear. A good friend of mine went there for her honeymoon and loved it. She never stopped talking about it for months. When she came back she was on "Bali time" for like a week. It's a nice place to take a loved one- good for you and your boo!
Btw, I'm still catching up on your archives; you have big things happening in the upcoming months- congrats and good luck with everything! Hopefully we can connect when your are in town; I should be in town for a few weeks in August. Oh, and stop worrying about your hair and clothes they look fine. Maybe you could switch things up for spring when the weather gets better.
