So Im in Budapest and struggling with the language, the currency, and this Hungarian keyboard (where the heck is the apostrophe on this thing?) so you will have to deal with my typing errors. After going out last night with Nita and company, then consequently only getting 3 hours of sleep and having to get up at the crack of dawn to walk 20 minutes to catch the bus to the Nice airport, I got here this afternoon after having a brief layover in Munich (I love the sound of German, such a funny language) and hit the ground running. Took a shuttle from the Budapest airport and went straight to my hostel, where I seem to be the only person in my room. Yes! So I basically have a huge room to myself. It seems to be a very quiet time for tourism, because the hostel was empty, and the majority of tourists I saw in the street were either older or downright elderly (nothing wrong with that of course- Nikita loves the Grandpas).
First impression of Budapest? Very similar to other European capitals I have visited. The same layout, the same stores, though the architecture is way older and fancier. Contrary to popular belief, most Hungarians I have met here speak VERY good English, even though German seems to be the second language here. I haggled my way onto a city bus sightseeing tour and thus have been able to familiarize myself with the main attractions. Tomorrow evening I yill take a boat tour of along the famous Danube River. Probably due to the lack of tourists my age, I have spent the vast majority of the day by myself, but that suits me just fine. Being the lone Black girl here (Ive only seen one other all day),I have gotten a number of stares beholding my chocolately goodness in all its glory (and also because my hair is looking a hot mess right about now…Hope dreadlocking my hair is still a good idea!). Two Brazilian dudes of mixed race stopped me in the street, talking about how it was so great to see me, a sista, in Budapest, and how the city needs more colour. As for other acquaintances made, I met an Italian guy in my hostel who seemed pretty nice (and VERY attractive), but was on his way to go swimming at a local pool. Now, those of you who know me well know that my big behind does not swim (nearly drowned at a waterpark when I was 9, lol), so I had to pass on that one and tell him I hoped to see him later at the hostel.
Anyway, looks I will be here for another 2 days or so before heading to Vienna. Im gonna go back to my hostel and go to bed because I am tired!!

Man, there's NOTHING like getting a hostel room all to yourself after a tiring day of travel. Feels like you've hit the jackpot.
Be patient with the loc'ing. It's going to look a little questionable for a minute, but they'll begin to form and you'll be mighty happy that you stuck with it. Be safe, you chocolate-ty good one!
