So in another random attempt to make the most out of my upcoming summer in Europe (or maybe in a fit of madness, not too sure which one), I clicked-clicked away and put another somewhat hefty sum on my already over-worked credit card, and purchased plane tickets to Ireland and Scotland. I have a long weekend in July (France’s independence day on July 14th) and after experiencing an underwhelming fireworks display on this day when I was on the Riviera last year, I figured that this extra day of no-work and no-school would be better spent discovering a foreign land. And hence, I will be jetting off to Dublin on July 11, making my way to Edinburgh sometime in between, and returning to Nice on the 15th. All of this courtesy of Ryan Air, which seems to have an ungainly reputation for bad service and flights riddled with turbulence *gulp*. A quick look in my guide-book reveals that Dublin and Edinburgh are hella expensive, and that the Pound-Euro-Canadian dollar exchange is quite frightful at the moment. But you can’t worry about money when you are gaining such amazing life experience. I am so excited, particularly about traveling to lands known for leprechauns, kilts, strange culinary delicacies involving random bits of stuffed intestines, epic Guinness beer, fabled sea monsters (wussup, Loch Ness!), and kick-ass accents. This lass can’t wait!

For sure, the CAD is rallying, so I have to reconsider the decision not go on vac this summer. The pound is the weakest it's been, so the UK is on the radar for me also. I'm sure you'll have fun. Beware of the charming Irish hottie who KNOWS he's charming. 😉 Same with the Scots: Less hotties, but equally charming accents. Can't wait to read more.
